Get a coffee, pastry, and take a stroll on the Bob Jones trail.

First, I'd probably drink some coffee at home. I know I'm going to go to Linnaea's in a bit, but there's always room for more coffee. Since we live in SLO, we'll leave Sadie at home and pick her up before our stroll. Right now, we're going to relax downtown.

Linnaea's is one of my favorite coffee shops. Importantly, the coffee itself is delicious and I thoroughly enjoy a deep, relaxing sniff of a toasty, warm coffee. Normally, I'd also get a chocolate croissant or a sea salt chocolate cookie, but we'll visit another bakery later. For now, we'll go to the back of the shop with our coffee and chill in the beautiful garden patio. It's just lovely. (Scout Coffee is basically next door though, so there's always a chance I'll skip Linnaea's and choose Scout. So nice to have choices).

We're not much for lingering too long, so we'll take a walk around downtown. As much as I love downtown SLO, it is a bit small and only takes a few minutes to go up and down Marsh, Higuera, and Monterey streets so it's great for a quick Sunday morning walk, but won't get your heart rate going too much. I always love walking through Mission Plaza, across the creek, and through some of the shops.

Joliene Bakery is just a little south of the main downtown area, but is an easy walk. We'll get a loaf of sourdough, a danish, or perhaps a kouign amann. Joliene is in a recently renovated shopping center called The Creamery that used to have a parking lot in the middle, but has been turned into more pedestrian space, which I love. There are a few other shops and restaurants here that I'll have to check out in the future. They all look pretty tasty to me. (Looking at you, Nite Creamery).

After picking up Sadie from home, we'll drive a few miles south of SLO to the trailhead for the Bob Jones Trail. It's basically a bike trail that goes about two miles along a beautiful creek, near Sycamore Mineral Hot Springs, and a golf course. The oak trees are wonderful, the creek is lovely, and the path leads all the way to Avila Beach. It's an easy walk, if a little long for casual walkers (about 4 miles roundtrip).
